Katie Couric "Manhandles" Sarah Palin With Logical And Relevant Questions She Should've Expected.

The right wing may not like it, but I think it's important for an unknown governor to be able to stand face to face with questions about her comments, her record, and her positions on the issues. Is it really attacking and picking on her if we ask her if she supported "The Bridge to Nowhere" before she was against it, or what news publications she reads to inform her decision making? Well if so, then here's a new glossary of wrestling terms to describe the McCain campaigns hyper-sensitive and exaggerated view of a "tough" interview with Sarah Palin...

Body Slam: Asking her about how the distance from Alaska to Russia qualifies as her foreign policy experience.

Headlock: Asking her if she believes that a minor who becomes pregnant as a result of rape or incest should be required by law to have the child.

Eye Gouge: Asking her about the irony of her position supporting "abstinence only" sex education in schools, while having a 17 year-old pregnant teen daughter... And furthermore, how she could cut the funding for a state program that aims to help teen mothers find housing, job training and education, (note that this move is illegal and may result in a penalty).

Boston Crab: Raising the question of how she could claim to be against earmarks, but as mayor of Wasilla hired a lobbyist to secure 27 million dollars in earmarks, averaging over $4,000 per person for her town with a population of 6,700 people. In fact, these earmark
request were so egregious that they made John McCain's own list of questionable spending.

Figure 4: Asking her about how she can claim to be a reformer, who's against earmarks when the state of Alaska requested $197 million dollars in earmarks for this year alone, more per person than any other state in the Union.

Suplex: Asking her about her position on the $700 billion dollar Wall Street financial bailout.

Back Breaker: "Do you agree with The Bush Doctrine?"

Sleeper Hold: Asking her to name a single example of John McCain pushing for more regulation on Wall Street during his 26 years in congress; a claim she continues to repeat over and over again on the stump.

Low Blow: Asking her if she agrees with American forces launching cross-border attacks into Pakistan to capture/kill Al Qaeda operatives... This is a "gotcha" question according to John McCain, but that's because Sarah Palin's answer appears to support Barack Obama's position on that issue. (the first and second sentence are two seperate links here to reinforce the point) In fact here's a link to the actual footage of the question being asked at CNNcom.

Scissor Kick: Asking her about her statement that she hasn't "really focused much on the war in Iraq. I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, Condoleezza Rice and the administration, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place".... A statement (other than the not focusing on Iraq part, which supports Sen. Obama).

Clothesline: Brining up the fact that as mayor of Wisilla (a position that she says shows her record as an experienced executive) she left the small town $20 million in debt. This is a town that had never seen any debt before her tenure as mayor.

I think that sould do it for now, but we might continue to add to this list as the McCain campaign continues to conjure up new ways to claim that the media is "attacking" Gov. Palin by doing its job... Please note that their is a link for every claim so that you can research the facts yourself.
